Metria Terms of Use

1. Acceptance

By downloading, installing, accessing, or using Metria, you confirm that you have read and agree to these Terms and the Metria Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not continue using the App and remove it from your device.

If you use Metria on behalf of an organization, you confirm that you have authority to bind that organization to these Terms.

2. Service

Metria provides on-device food, nutrition, weight, and Daily Check-in records, together with trends, periodic reviews, and association patterns derived from real records. Features may vary by version, device capability, permission status, and the amount of available data.

When samples are insufficient, data is missing, or quality is uncertain, Metria may not generate an Insight, Pattern, or summary. This prevents small amounts of data from being presented as a certain conclusion.

3. Health Information and Medical Boundary

Food data, serving sizes, nutrition values, recognition results, and third-party databases may contain errors. For allergens, drug interactions, disease management, pregnancy, eating disorders, or other high-risk health decisions, verify the original label and consult a qualified professional.

If you believe you are experiencing a medical emergency, contact local emergency services immediately. Do not rely on Metria.

4. User Responsibilities

You agree to use Metria reasonably and are responsible for data you enter, confirm, edit, export, and interpret. You must not:

• rely on unverified recognition results for high-risk health decisions;
• attempt to bypass security, disrupt the App, or reverse engineer protected content, except where expressly permitted by applicable law;
• use the App to infringe another person's privacy, intellectual property, or other legal rights;
• present associations shown by Metria as proven medical causation.

5. Data, Privacy, and Exports

The current version does not create a Metria account, and core records are stored primarily on your device. For details about data types, HealthKit use, local storage, the Widget, exports, third-party components, and deletion, read the Privacy Policy.

CSV or JSON files you export may contain sensitive health and food information. Choose destinations and recipients carefully, and manage copies saved or sent outside the App.

Uninstalling the App, local data corruption, device loss, or unavailable system backups may make data unrecoverable. The current version does not promise full-database import, cloud recovery, or cross-device sync.

6. HealthKit, Camera, and System Services

Some features require you to grant access to Apple Health, the camera, or selected photos. Declining a permission may limit the related feature but does not remove available manual logging paths. You can change permissions in iOS Settings.

Apple Health, iCloud, the App Store, TestFlight, the system share sheet, and receiving Apps are managed by their respective providers and governed by their own terms. Metria cannot control the continued availability of those services or how external copies are handled.

7. Service Availability and Changes

We work to keep the App stable, secure, and compatible with supported iOS versions, but we do not guarantee that every feature will remain available on every device, in every region, on every system version, or for every data state. System updates, permission changes, third-party frameworks, and device resources may affect functionality.

We may fix defects, improve accessibility, update compatibility, adjust non-core presentation, or discontinue features that cannot be maintained safely. Changes to data use or important product boundaries will be reflected in the relevant notices.

8. Intellectual Property and Third-Party Components

The Metria name, interface, original code, visual assets, and copy are protected by applicable intellectual property laws. These Terms grant only the limited permission needed to use the App normally and do not transfer intellectual property rights.

The App includes open-source and third-party components, including libraries used for layout, charts, and interface behavior. Those components remain subject to their respective licenses and attribution requirements.

9. Disclaimers and Limitations of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Metria is provided "as is" and "as available." We do not make an absolute guarantee regarding nutrition estimates, food recognition, pattern interpretation, device backups, external services, or the completeness of user-entered data.

We are responsible for loss caused by reliance on the App, unverified food information, device failure, system permission changes, external sharing, data loss, or use outside the stated product boundary only to the extent required by applicable law. This section does not exclude or limit consumer rights or liabilities that cannot legally be excluded or limited.

10. Ending Use and Local Deletion

You may stop using Metria at any time. In the App, choose More → Privacy & Security → Delete All Local Data to remove local records managed by the App, then uninstall it.

Deleting local data does not delete original Apple Health records, revoke system permissions, or remove files already shared outside the App. See the Privacy Policy for the full scope.

11. Changes, Applicable Law, and Contact

We may update these Terms to reflect product, legal, or platform requirements. Material changes will be communicated through App release notes, the product page, or another appropriate channel, and the effective date will be updated. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised Terms, unless applicable law requires separate consent.

These Terms do not limit consumer rights granted by the law where you live that cannot be excluded by contract. Other questions of governing law and dispute handling follow the developer identity disclosed on the App Store product page and the applicable rules of that developer's location.
